About me

Hoopla! Creations was started after fifteen years of putting on parties and events for my family, my children’s schools and sports teams, as well as organizing various church and Sunday school events. I have a passion to be creative about themed events and all the publications, games, spirit gifts, prizes, videos, desserts, and everything else that goes with it.  Many people through the years told me I should have a business to use my party planning, desktop publishing, and other talents, so I finally decided to do just that!  Hoopla! Creations was born July 2005!

My name is Tammy Cooper and I am a mother of three (now adult) children, and two small grandchildren, and wife of 40 years to my husband Michael.  We have lived in the East Plano/ Richardson/ Murphy area for thirty-seven years.  My children attended Plano schools and we are faithful members of Meadows Baptist Church and have enjoyed serving in various missions, evangelism, and  adult and children’s ministries.  My husband and I also love scuba diving and exploring various islands and beaches of the Caribbean.  I have a B.S. degree in computer science from the University of Texas-Dallas, but was blessed to be a stay-at-home mom for many years and was able to volunteer my talents in many school, scouting, and church events and of course all the parties!  Currently I substitute teach, work on my Hoopla Creations business ventures and enjoy spending time with my family.

In the last ten years I included wedding invitations and other custom designed and printed projects to my list of creations as well as some video slideshows and movies for celebrations. In 2019, I added custom sugar cookies to the Hoopla family by starting Hoopla Sweets.  My love of parties and matching themes just naturally carried over into edible creations.  Recently, I also endeavored to start converting VHS tapes to save all of those party/life/event celebrations captured on old media to digital format and added that as another service under Hoopla Creations.  Finally after the Spring 2023 renovation to our pool in our extra-large backyard perfect for events, I have extended my creations to a new level. We started "Hoopla at Blue Lagoon" --a backyard paradise for outdoor parties and events including a pool, sports areas, and jungle gym in an all enclosed yard for children, teens, or adults to entertain for private parties which can be rented with or without my party planning services.
